Interview with author Richard Battle

Mr. Richard V. Battle, a fifth generation Texan, is a longtime Lone Star state business and community leader and award-winning author. His latest book is Made in America By AmeriCANS Not AmeriCANTS.

Award-winning author and frequent media guest Richard Battle has been through a lot of election cycles, but he says this midterm is shaping up to be the most combative in his memory. "My name is Battle, and this is shaping up to be a battle at the polls!"

Richard points to:

-President Biden’s doomsday speech Wednesday where he spoke about “threats to democracy” and warning of “political violence”

-Hilary Clinton’s frequent criticisms of “G.O.P. Election Deniers on CNN and MSNBC

“…and that’s just the tip of the iceberg”, says Battle, author of nine books including his latest “Made In America by America-CANS, not Ameri-CAN’TS”. "The rhetoric needs to be dialed way back, and that's coming from a guy whose name literally is BATTLE!"

So, how does Battle suggest we do something about the gloves-off craziness of the mid-term election battle?

“Have thick skin. You're almost through the worst of the rhetoric in these ads and speeches. Then, on Tuesday if not sooner…vote. Just do it. It matters. Don't get caught up in the urge to tune out all the noise. Apathy is what got us the choices we have now in our political leaders. Voting, and engaging, is one of the hallmarks of U.S. citizenship", says Battle. "Look how close some elections have become; sometimes they're decided by a razor-thin margin, especially in local and state races. It’s critical, and it matters. Those local and state races are where the things that affect you directly, like crime, inflation, taxes, and immigration policy have a direct impact on how you and your family live your lives. Make the best choices you can, then hold the politicians accountable. It’s our duty as Americans to take this seriously; don’t give up your most powerful weapon in the battle” says Battle.
